How it Started...
Caribbean Sol was founded by its current President, Bruce Shanks. Bruce worked in the beach operations and boat excursion industry along the coast of Florida and throughout the Caribbean Islands for years before founding Caribbean Sol. The idea for a mineral sunscreen came from numerous talks with his beach and boat operator friends. To them, commercialized sunscreen was killing their world, and quite frankly, their revenues. The decline and decay of the vibrant sea life that travelers came to see was taking a toll on their business.
This got Bruce thinking. One day, noticing the vibrancy of tropical plants, he thought to himself, "If these tropical plants can thrive and sustain their beauty with the sun beating down on them, there must be something within them we can use to protect our skin without polluting our world."
With the help of a microbiologist and the perfect combination of plant and mineral extracts, Caribbean Sol formulas were born and have been trusted to protect and preserve our skin and our world for over 20 years.
